In partnership with TECHNOLOGY CONSULTANTS, CIRCODU was sub-contracted to undertake a study that would facilitate in coming up with a detailed design of the small-scale water storage and detention facilities, detailed plan for silt traps drainage, flood control and maximum water recuperation. The project was commissioned by the Government of Uganda through Ministry of Water and Environment in partnership with UNDP.
The overall objective of the assessment / study was to generate information and data that will guide effective implementation of the restoration project in 20 districts in Eastern and South Western Uganda. The information generated from this assignment is expected to enhance the chances of a successful restoration initiative.
The activities we carried out included Household interviews in the areas, Key informant interviews, Focus Group Discussions and on – Site Assessments.
The study covered Eastern Uganda districts of Butaleja, Kibuku, Namutumba, Kaliro, Budaka, Tororo, Mbale, Ngora, Bukeada. Pallisa and in South Western Uganda districts of Rubirizi, Bushenyi, Mitooma, Kisoro, Kanungu, Rukungiri, Buhweju, Ntungamo, Sheema and Kabale
