Working with Dr. Fridah Wilumila Mugo of Nairobi University, CIRCODU conducted a mid-term review which aimed at assessing the progress of the projects towards achieving the targets for the Renewable Energy Projects, and providing recommendations on how to improve performance and strengthen results, outcomes and impact.
The review aimed at Assessing the effectiveness, timeliness and efficiency of the use of project funds, human resources, and organizational set-up in carrying out project activities and achieving project results, Drawing key lessons learnt and recommending strategies to improve performance, Assessing and recommend ways to promote stakeholder ownership, participation and engagement, Assessing the level of awareness about the value of solar PV systems in the districts of Kasese, Arua and Masindi, Assessing and recommending ways to promote continuous learning and quality control. It also aimed at assessing and recommending ways of mobilizing co-financing resources in the remaining period.
The evaluation activities included Stakeholder consultation meetings, Household surveys with sampled household heads or their representatives, Key Informant Interviews, Literature reviews and On-site assessments
